United We Read, Elmwood Park!
The entire District 401 community has the opportunity
to read a specially selected book and share its story, message, and the experience with others. The Elmwood Park Public Library (Three Cups of Tea library blog) and the Village of Elmwood Park are partners on this project.

EPHS Students' Test Scores are Highest in History
All Illinois public high school juniors take the Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE). The test measures student achievement in reading, math, science and writing and includes the national ACT+ Writing Test. Elmwood Park High School students 2009 PSAE and ACT scores were the highest achieved in school history! In fact, over the past five years, PSAE math scores increased by 190%; ACT (PSAE) reading by 126% and PSAE science by 144% (percentage of students who meet or exceed Illinois State Learning Standards).
July 4th Freedom Fest
Elmwood Park School District was very proud to be a partner with the Village of Elmwood Park and the Village of River Grove to bring the “Traveling Vietnam Wall” to our students and community members. In addition to honoring the names of all Vietnam Veterans whose names were listed on the wall, living Veterans from Elmwood Park and River Grove were personally honored by President Peter Silvestri and President Marilyn May.
Regular Flu and Swine Flu Precautions
As you have been hearing on the news, there are some Swine Flu cases in the United States, but none reported in Illinois, of which we are aware. Our schools and nursing staff always encourage good health habits at all times. Please review this “health alert information” from DuPage County Public Health, and be sure to have your family follow the recommendations. It’s always important to be proactive with wellness practices.
