About the District
Elmwood Park Community Unit School District 401 serves over 2800 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade in five schools.
Our Mission:
"It is the responsibility of the Elmwood Park Schools and Community to promote the highest level of development for every student to be productive and to foster a life-long process of learning by creating a safe, caring and challenging educational environment."

The Village of Elmwood Park borders the west side of the City of Chicago, Illinois at Harlem Ave. Our other borders include River Forest to the South (at North Avenue); River Grove to the West (at approximately Thatcher Avenue); and more of Chicago to the North (at Belmont Avenue).
Convenient expressways are located to the North (I-90) and the South (I-290, I-88). If traveling via the I-90 (Kennedy) Expressway, exit Cumberland Avenue South. From either the I-290 (Eisenhower) or the I-88 Expressways, exit First Avenue - North.
