Meet Our Superintendent


Dr. Nicolas Wade


District 401's Superintendent of Schools is Dr. Nicolas Wade. After serving a year as D401's Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, he succeeded Dr. Kevin Anderson as leader of the District on July 1, 2017.

Beginning his career as a high school English teacher, Dr. Wade moved into administration after four years in the classroom. He served as an assistant principal at Winnebago High School for two years.

In 2013, Dr. Wade became Elmwood Park High School’s assistant principal. He held that position for three year before being named D401’s Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction in 2016.  

He received his bachelor of arts from Bradley University, double majoring in English and secondary education.

Dr. Wade earned his master of education from Benedictine University in administration and leadership, and his doctor of education from Argosy University-Schaumburg in educational leadership.
