Required Leadership Training


Under Illinois law (105 ILCS 5/10-16a), every elected or appointed voting member of a district school board must complete a minimum of four hours of professional development leadership training.

This training must cover topics in education and labor law, financial oversight and accountability, and the fiduciary responsibilities of a school board member.

Pursuant to this statute, District 401's website provides the names of all voting members of the school board who have successfully completed the training. Please see the table below.

Other Required Training


In addition, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nicolas Wade has been designated by the Board to receive training in compliance with the Open Meetings Act (OMA), as required by Section 1.05(a) of that act.

Dr. Wade, who also serves as District 401's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) officer, completes all required OMA and FOIA training each year.
