District 401 Library Services
Don't let the rise of digital learning fool you. School libraries have never been more important than now. Whether students are seeking books to read for pleasure or looking for databases to assist them with their latest research project, District 401's libraries accommodate a broad range of 21st-century educational needs.
A broad selection of picture books is geared to early learners, while more advanced readers have access to award-winning series and the most popular fiction stories in the market today.
Classes at both elementary schools use library devices to access World Book and other online databases, enabling students to begin forming the research skills they will use consistently through middle and high school.
The Elm Middle School Library continues the tradition of engaging readers with enthralling books that stoke a passion for lifelong reading.
Students also continue to develop their research, technology and digital literacy skills by building on their experience with databases and collaborating with their peers through document sharing.
Our experienced staff provides help on how to incorporate larger inquiry-based research programs into their studies.
The Elmwood Park High School Library strives to fortify students with the research, technology and digital literacy skills they need for college and the marketplace beyond.
The EPHS Library also continues the tradition of collecting the most exciting books for pleasure reading, including suspense thrillers, dramas, supernatural and relationship books.
Book clubs and literary clubs help encourage our more ambitious readers and writers to reach their potential.
