The Early Childhood Center celebrated the birthday of one of America's most beloved children's writers with a lively and well-attended Dr. Seuss Family Night on Thursday, March 1.

Students, parents and family members filled the ECC for an evening of activities related to some of the writer-illustrator's most popular books:

► "Bartholomew and the Oobleck"
► "The Cat in the Hat"
► "Green Eggs and Ham"
► "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish"

Activities were also available for a fifth book, Robert Lopshire's "Put Me in the Zoo," which Dr. Seuss edited for his famous Beginner Books series.

Theodor Seuss Geisel — better known by the pen name that he adopted while still in college — lived from March 2, 1904, to Sept. 24, 1991. Check out the photos below to see how ECC families marked the 114th anniversary of his birth.

A big thank you to everyone who turned out!
