Oh, the Fun We Had on Dr. Seuss Night!

The Early Childhood Center celebrated the birthday of one of America's most beloved children's writers with Dr. Seuss Family Night on March 2.

Students, parents and family members filled the ECC for an evening of Dr. Seuss-related activities, including:

► "Story Time," where ECC teachers read aloud from "Green Eggs and Ham" and "The Cat in the Hat"

► "Yummy Green Eggs," where students colored in scenes from Dr. Seuss books and made crafts, including paper hats in the style of "The Cat in the Hat"

► "Fun with Oobleck," where students made the ooey-gooey title substance of "Bartholomew and the Oobleck"

► "Dr. Seuss Family Bingo Fun," where parents and children played bingo with cards featuring miniature Dr. Seuss book covers

So why choose March 2 for the big event? That's when Dr. Seuss was born 113 years ago in Springfield, Mass., as Theodor Geisel (March 2, 1904-Sept. 24, 1991). Oh, the places he went!

Check out the photos below to see how ECC families marked the occasion. A big thank you to everyone who turned out!
