Elmwood Park High School's Daily Bulletin is read over the intercom each school day during lunch. An edited version of the most recent bulletin will be posted on this page the same day the original script is read. In addition, the bulletin is available on PowerSchool daily.

► District Choir and Band


Congratulations to Julia Furgal and Michael Matos for making District Choir and Sarah Coleman for making District Band. These students auditioned with more than 2,000 other music students and are part of the top 30 students in their section for the Chicagoland area.


► Football Playoff Shirts


Your EPHS Tigers football team made the playoffs with their win against Walther Christian on Saturday, Oct. 14. Be a part of this great season with a playoff shirt! T-shirts and long-sleeve shirts are both $10. All orders need to be in by Thursday's A-Lab. See Coach Mack or any of the football coaches if you have any questions.


► Girls Basketball


Attention, all girls interested in basketball: There will be an open gym Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m. in the East Gym. Come ready to play!


► Hypnotic Night


Have you ever wanted to see your friend dance like a chicken? Ever wanted to see a hypnotist in person? Well, now you can. Come out to see Brian Imbus at EPHS Hypnotic Night at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. Tickets will be sold during lunches and A-Lab and are $7 if you buy early, $8 at the door.


► Leyden Township Collection Boxes


It’s never too early to think of families less fortunate than our own. Leyden Township recently delivered boxes to collect both food and (new) toys for the needy. Please bring your donations to the Main Office anytime — and thanks!


► Picture Day Retakes


All students and staff: If you were not able to have your picture taken or would like a picture retake, please pick up a picture form in the Main Office this week. Picture retake day will take place on Friday, Oct. 20, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the LGI. Note: All club pictures will be that same day in the Main Gym hallway during A-Lab.


► Social and Emotional Team


Did you know that seven out of every 10 students have been negatively affected by bullying in their school career? Did you know that girls are often bullied more-often than boys? Are you aware that 83 percent of all students who have been bullied feel that bullying has hurt their self-esteem? EIGHTY THREE PERCENT. Where will it stop?

Elmwood Park's Social and Emotional Team is announcing its first monthly theme for October and November: "Cyberbullying and Conflict Resolution." Be sure to check out the bulletin board across from the auditorium and stay tuned for future events in A-Lab for more information.


► Science Club


Science Club members! Even with mid-terms, Science Club will be meeting today. We will meet right after mid-terms in Room 215. Bring your lunch and bring your best spaghetti bridge-building skills! See you right after school in Room 215!


► Snowball


Snowball will meet Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. in the amphitheater. There will be a speaker on managing stress through mindfulness. All are welcome to come!


► Winter Cheerleading


Winter cheerleading clinics will be held Monday, Oct. 23, from 3:30 to 6 p.m., followed by tryouts on Tuesday, Oct. 24, starting at 3:30 p.m. Events on both days will be located in the South Gym.


► Winter Sports Meeting


Anyone interested in playing a winter sport must attend a meeting on Monday, Oct. 23, in the auditorium during A-Lab.


► Winter Sports Registration


Winter sports registration has begun. You can register online at il.8to18.com/elmwoodpark. Contact the Athletic Office with any questions.


► Wrestling


Open mats will begin this week and will take place Monday through Thursday after school. Any questions, see Coach Posmer in Room 142.
