The Elmwood Park High School Marching Tigers traveled to Champaign on Saturday, Sept. 2, and performed with the University of Illinois Marching Illini during halftime of the Illinois season-opening football game against Ball State.
Led by Band Director Mr. Kyle Rhoades, the 46 EPHS students were among 1,500 high school musicians who participated in the Marching Illini's annual Illinois Band Day at Memorial Stadium. The 20-plus bands performed "24K Magic," "Fireball" and "Lips are Movin'."
Three chaperones helped out: Ellen Peterson (Band Boosters president), Annette Bylina and Dale Wernsing. The trip was a return to familiar ground for Mr. Rhoades, who was a member of the Marching Illini from 2003 to 2006. Congratulations to all who participated!
