EPHS Students Take Home Honors in Triton Art Competition

Student artists from Elmwood Park High School have impressed judges yet again, winning 12 awards in Triton College's 2018 High School Art Competition.

The awards included three prizes each for senior Laura Martin Delcampo and sophomore Anna Krasilych. Laura two third-place ribbons in the ceramic category and a third-place ribbon in mixed media. Anna won third place in ceramic, mixed media and paper mache.

The EPHS art program is led teachers Ms. Mary Palmer and Ms. Sarah Heflin. This year’s Triton winners are:

Natalie Alvarado — third place in acrylic paint

Carlos Ferrel — third place in wood 

Thailyn Gonzalez — third place in acrylic paint

Dominika Janiszewska — third place in acrylic paint

Anna Krasilych — third place in ceramic; third place in mixed media; third place in paper mache

Laura Martin Delcampo — third place in ceramic (two awards); third place in mixed media

Sofia Muñoz — third place in marker

Andrea Quattrochi — third place in mixed media

A public reception for the competition’s artists was held at the Triton College Fine Arts Gallery on Wednesday, Feb. 14, with a brief awards ceremony.

The works were on display at the Triton Gallery from January through mid-February.
