Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest to perform at EPHS April 19

The Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest will hold a full concert dress rehearsal Wednesday, April 19, at Elmwood Park High School to prepare for its concert later this month at Dominican University.

The concert practice will be held in the EPHS Auditorium and will begin at 7:30 p.m. and run until about 10 p.m. The Elmwood Park community is invited to come to this free event and enjoy an evening of concert preparation.

Those attending will have a chance to win free tickets to "Central European Delights," the 4 p.m. concert scheduled for Sunday, April 30, at the Dominican University Performing Arts Center, Lund Auditorium, 7900 W. Division St., River Forest.

WeberDer Freischutz Overture

DvorakSlavonic Dances, Op. 72, Nos. 5-8

BrahmsViolin Concerto with David Taylor, soloist

Founded in 1931, The Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest is one of the nation's oldest community orchestras.

The Illinois Council of Orchestras (ICO) honored the symphony in 2011 with its Community Orchestra of the Year Award. In addition, the ICO has recognized the symphony's music director, Jay Friedman, as its Conductor of the Year three times — in 2017, 2011 and 2000.
