What You Need to Know about the H1N1 Flu
UNDER THE GUIDELINES OF CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION (CDC) AND COOK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH (CCDPH)
- Doctors are not mandated to provide notes or diagnosis.
- Schools are not mandated to require doctor’s notes for ill students.
- Schools are not mandated to provide notes to parents if there is a diagnosis of influenza in a classroom.
We are following the guidelines set by CCDPH advising all to do the following:
- wash hands frequently
- do not touch face, eyes, mouth or nose
- eat healthy foods
- sleep no less than six to eight hours each night
- keep child home if ill, or stay home from work if ill
- keep child home if there is a fever, and have the child remain at home for 24 hours after the fever has been resolved without using fever reducing medication
