Principal's Message

By Ms. Rebecca Siegel, Elm Middle School Principal

Rebecca Siegel photoWelcome Back, Cougars!

We've had a very exciting summer and look forward to seeing everyone back in the building for the 2019-20 school year.

In my second year as the building principal I look forward to strengthening my relationships with students, staff and the families of Elmwood Park, as we embark on the journey to becoming a true middle school.

I am excited to continue to work with our dedicated staff that strives every day to ensure growth for our Elm students both academically and emotionally.

We understand the challenges that middle school brings, and as a staff we're committed to supporting your student through these new endeavors to ensure success for all.

We're happy to report the successful mid-year transition to 1:1 initiative went smoothly, and we look forward to another year of 21st-century learning opportunities at Elm.

At Elm, we strive to create structure through our use of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and strengthen students within our community by using restorative justice.

Our job is to ensure that your students are ready for 21st-century society and that we cultivate an environment in which every child becomes a lifelong learner.

Here in Elmwood Park we have dedicated staff that will do just that by creating a student-centered environment with all the supports necessary for every individual child's success. We look forward to working with you in this journey.

Sincerely,

Ms. Rebecca Siegel
Principal
