Cougar Leadership Council

At most schools, student council is the place where young people can develop the deliberative habits and leadership skills essential to self-government. Elm Middle School’s version of student council is called the Cougar Leadership Council (CLC).

Students in each Academic Advisory class elect a representative who will serve on the CLC, and the representatives in turn elect the organization’s officers.

CLC meets once a month during the school day and is sponsored by language arts teachers Ms. Elena Bartolomei and Ms. Laura Dunbar.

Council members organize a variety of activities throughout the school year such as spirit days, and they also sponsor community service projects.
