Photo Gallery: Elm Construction, Phase 1

CONSTRUCTION SLIDESHOW: The photos in this slideshow document Phase 1 of the ongoing construction project at Elm Middle School. District 401 Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations Mr. Jim Jennings took the photos, with the exception of slides 103 and 104, which were taken by Elm Assistant Principal Ms. Ashley Groeneveld. Ms. Groeneveld and D401 Instructional Technology Director Ms. Jessica Iovinelli produced the slideshow.

As Principal Ms. Rebecca Siegel noted in her recent letter to Elm Middle School families, the construction project that began on school grounds in late May has progressed smoothly.

Phase 1, which consists of remodeling the existing building, is almost complete. Phase 2 will take place during the 2019-20 school year. Classes will begin on Aug. 14 as scheduled, and they will proceed uninterrupted throughout the school year as the project continues. (See Ms. Siegel's letter for details.)

During Phase 2, the construction crew will focus on adding new classrooms and a new gym to the school. These additions will enable Elm to enter the 2020-21 school year as a true middle school accommodating grades 6-8 instead of the current arrangement of grades 7-8.

Throughout this summer, Mr. Jim Jennings, District 401's Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations, has been taking photographs to document the project.

Elm Assistant Principal Ms. Ashley Groeneveld and D401 Instructional Technology Director Ms. Jessica Iovinelli have assembled a number of these photographs into a slideshow, which is available at the top of this page.

Many of these photos are also available in the photo gallery below, which was assembled by D401 web/media specialist Dave Porreca. Thank you to Mr. Jennings for sharing his photo skills!
