Homework, Grading & Testing

This section provides an overview of how Elmwood Elementary School assesses and reinforces the academic development of our students through homework, grading and testing.

District 401's elementary school instruction is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and Illinois Learning Standards in English language arts and mathematics, and with the Illinois Learning Standards in our other subject areas.

In addition to the standards-based grading they receive during the course of their regular classes, Elmwood students also take several standardized tests a year to monitor their progress.
