Substitute Teachers
Applicants must have a valid Illinois teaching or substitute license registered in District 401's region (06).
To substitute for District 401, use this information sheet to begin the process.
Please be prepared to bring in a copy of the following documents if you are hired:
- Your online license and registration page from ELIS
- State ID
- Social Security card
- Physical (within the past 90 days)
- Voided check for Direct Deposit

We do not accept hard copy and emailed resumes. Your application will be retained in active status for one school year.
Our Online System
We use the AppliTrack online application system, so you will be able to upload transcripts, letters of recommendation, licenses and application information that may be on file at other districts.
