Step 1. Prove you are a resident of Elmwood Park (Proof of Residency)

To enroll at an EPCUSD 401 school for the 2024-25 year, students and their guardian(s) must be Elmwood Park residents effective August 21, 2024. Enrollment of a student who is not a resident is a fraudulent act. Any student found to have been fraudulently enrolled will be dropped from attendance rolls immediately. Parents or guardians making a fraudulent enrollment will be subject to the payment of retroactive tuition charged for non-resident students, not to exceed 110% of the per capita cost. A person who knowingly or willfully presents the District any false information regarding the residency of a pupil for the purpose of enabling that pupil to attend any school in the District shall have committed a Class C misdemeanor and shall be prosecuted by the District.

  • For Returning Students: Student residency is reviewed in the spring. If your residency was verified in public record, you do not need to submit residency. If it was not verified, you will need to provide proof of residency through the PowerSchool portal. Your PowerSchool account will be updated of your status. Students without approved residency will not be able to enroll in EPCUSD 401 schools.

  • For New Students: New students are defined as students who have not attended an EPCUSD 401 school in the prior school year, or have transferred out to a different district and are re-enrolling. All new students must prove residency.

Step 2. Complete registration information

New and returning families need to complete all registration information in PowerSchool. This is the process the district uses to maintain updated student records. Part of the registration process will be uploading necessary medical forms.

The State of Illinois has medical requirements for all new students and those entering preschool, kindergarten, second, sixth, ninth, and twelfth grades (outlined in the Medical Requirements below). It is expected that all students have the appropriate forms on file with the school health office. Please note that your child may not be able to enter the building if this information is not up-to-date and on file with the health office at your school. Registration is online. Students in all grades also need the Health Information and Health Authorization sheets completed and submitted. Contact your building nurse with any questions.

Step 3. Pay fees

All school fees will be paid via MySchoolBucks. School fees have been pre-loaded to your student’s webstore account. Pay by credit/debit card online using our School Fee Payment System or mail a check to your student's school (payable to EPCUSD 401):

You must submit the waiver application and required documents to be considered for fee waiver and meet the federal eligibility requirements.
