Kindergarten Enrollment

Enrollment in full-day and half-day kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year is open to all Elmwood Park children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2021.

Please note that all students must be Elmwood Park residents.

How to Enroll in Kindergarten

All kindergarten students in District 401 attend one of our two elementary schools:

Families have the option of full-day or half-day kindergarten.

As a kindergarten student, your child will attend either John Mills Elementary (north of the tracks) or Elmwood Elmwood (south of the tracks). Please begin your child's enrollment process by contacting your building secretary:

Please note that the main offices of John Mills and Elmwood are closed during summer break. If you plan to enroll your child in kindergarten during that time and you have questions, please contact the Registrar's Office at Elmwood Park High School:

Full-Day Kindergarten in District 401

When you begin the enrollment process, you will be asked whether you want to enroll your child in full-day or half-day kindergarten. The full-day program is offered at both of our elementary schools: John Mills (north of the railroad tracks) and Elmwood (south of the tracks).
