Physical Education Department
At Elmwood Park High School, a student must pass eight quarters of physical education if enrolled for four or more years. If the student completes graduation requirements in fewer years, the required number of quarters to be passed will be prorated.
Our physical education instruction is aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards for Physical Development and Health, an overview of which can be found here.
PE classes focus on building fitness skills for lifetime health. Our program includes an emphasis on personal fitness, team activities and individual activities, with a variety of advanced options for juniors and seniors. In addition, students complete the state requirements for fitness testing.
