Community Use of District 401 Facilities
District 401's school facilities are available to community organizations during non-school hours when such use meets the following criteria:
- The proposed use does not interfere with any school function or affect the safety of students or employees.
- The proposed use does not affect the property or liability of District 401.
Please note that the use of school facilities for school purposes has precedence over all other uses. The District reserves the right to cancel previously scheduled use of facilities by any and all groups. The use of school facilities requires the prior approval of the Superintendent or designee and is subject to applicable procedures.
Steps for Requesting Use
The Board of Education recognizes the investment which the community has made in District 401 building facilities. These facilities may be temporarily used under such provisions and control as the District may see fit to impose.
To request use of District facilities, please follow the two steps described below.

NOTE: Forms for EPHS must be submitted to both the Athletic Director and the Buildings & Grounds Director
Facility requests cannot be approved unless both forms are completed and submitted. Requests for facility use may not be earlier than three months from the first date of use.
Stipulations on Use
In accordance with District Policy 8:20, the use of school facilities for school purposes has precedence over all other uses.
The use of school facilities requires the prior approval of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Leah Gauthier or her designee and is subject to all applicable procedures, including those contained in the "Facility Use Request Form & Related Documents" packet listed above.
Please note that District 401 reserves the right to cancel previously scheduled use of facilities by any and all groups.
Fees, Costs and Rules of Conduct
Student groups, school-related organizations and government agencies are granted the use of school facilities at no rental cost during regularly staffed hours.
Fees and costs shall apply during non-school hours and to other organizations granted use of facilities at any time. A fee schedule and other terms of use are contained in "Facility Use Request Form & Related Documents" packet listed above.
Persons on school premises must abide by District 401's conduct rules at all times.
The rules governing visitor conduct on school property are contained in Section 8:30 of the Board of Education's District Policy Manual and in the regulations linked to above.
