Good Afternoon, Tigers and Tiger Parents/Guardians,

With our first day of hybrid learning underway for our Step 3 students and our new bell schedule for Semester 2, I wanted to send out a few reminders for you as parents/guardians for when your students begin participating in hybrid learning starting in Step 4 on Monday, Jan. 25.

Next week begins the start of Step 4 of our Return to School plan, and all of your students have selected to take part in hybrid learning half-days for up to two days a week. Here is a document showing what times of the day each of your students will have the option to attend school starting next week.

For those of you who qualify, we are providing bus transportation for your students as well. If you have any questions about bus transportation, please contact Mr. Parolin (parolind@epcusd401.org) or Ms. Hightower (hightowerl@epcusd401.org).

For safety reasons, we are asking students to enter the building at the following doors:

  • Students getting dropped off — Door 1 (main entrance)
  • Student walker/bike rider — Door 5 (by the cafeteria)
  • Students riding the bus — Door 14 (by south gym/varsity softball field)
  • Students driving and parking in the lot — Door 19 (south lot entrance)

Though your student will not be able to have lunch onsite at this time, we will provide your student the option to receive meals to take home twice a week.

Finally, as a part of our daily safety protocols, we are asking parents/guardians to fill out a wellness verification for your students daily, and we will also take their temperature via forehead or wrist prior to your student entering the building. For more information about these procedures, please watch this short video.

We are so excited for the students to begin returning to the building for the first time in more than 10 months!

If you have any further questions about our Return to School hybrid plans, please visit our Learning Update Center page or feel free to contact me, one of your student's teachers, your student's counselor and/or the Main Office.

With Tiger Pride,

Mr. Douglas J. Wildes
Elmwood Park High School
