Flag football was the name of the game Wednesday night at EPHS Stadium as the much-anticipated Powder Puff showdown between classes drew an enthusiastic crowd of Tiger supporters.

The event was part of EPHS Homecoming Week, which began Monday and will continue through Saturday, when Homecoming Dance 2021 will bring the festivities to an end.

This year’s Powder Puff Game featured two contests: freshmen vs. sophomores and juniors vs. seniors. Girls from each class took to the field as players while their male classmates assisted as coaches. Frosh (gold) and sophs (black) squared off first, with the sophomores taking home a hard-fought 7-0 win.

The second match saw the juniors (pink) and seniors (white) trading scores in the first half for a 7-7 tie at the break. The juniors took the lead in the second half, and the game went down to the wire with the Class of ‘22 threatening to score the tying touchdown in the final moments. But that was not to be as the juniors emerged victorious 14-7.

Thanks to all of the players, coaches, cheerleaders, class sponsors and everyone who came out to support the teams. Go, Tigers!
