The halls of Elmwood Park High School were filled Monday, Sept. 27, with students dressed in camouflage of various hues and styles to celebrate Camo Day, the first of five spirit days that will mark Homecoming Week 2021.
This year's events will run through Saturday, Oct. 2, when the long-awaited Homecoming Dance will be held at EPHS Stadium to conclude the festivities.
This will be the first in-person Homecoming Week since 2019 due to the COVID precautions that were in effect last fall.
The overall theme is "Fairytale," which will be reflected in hallway decorations set to go up later this week.
Every school day will have a separate theme as well. Students and staff are encouraged to get into the spirit of things with attire fitting the following themes:
- Monday, Sept. 27: Camo Day
- Tuesday, Sept. 28: Dress Like a Tourist Day
- Wednesday, Sept 29: Holiday
- Thursday, Sept. 30: Jersey Day
- Friday, Oct. 1: Black & Gold Day

The Run-Up to Homecoming Football
To get things rolling, the freshmen vs. sophomores and juniors vs. seniors will compete in the annual Powder Puff Game on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. on the EPHS football field. Come on out and support a fun Homecoming Week tradition!
On Friday, Oct. 1, in conjunction with a shortened class schedule, a pep assembly will be held at the stadium. The all-school event will begin at 2:10 p.m.
The gridiron action kicks off at 6 p.m. with the host Tigers taking on Ridgewood.
The 2021 Homecoming Dance is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the stadium and will conclude at 10 p.m. Students and their approved guests may begin checking in at 6 :30 p.m.
Tickets for the dance are on sale through Thursday, Sept. 30. Details are here. Guests must be approved by submitting the guest request form no later than Sept. 30. If students have any questions about procedures for buying tickets, they should contact the Deans' Office.
