Re: Start of School

We are excited to see our D401 students virtually, starting on Monday, Aug. 31, at 8:30 a.m. The administration and staff have been busy getting everything ready for Remote Learning 2.0. The decision to move to Remote Learning 2.0 was focused on two District priorities: The health and safety of our students, staff and community as well as a consistent plan for academic achievement. After making the decision to begin the year remotely we started working on the details to make virtual school a success.

Last week each building principal held a virtual town hall to share specific building information about our Fall Learning Plan. All of the town halls were recorded and can be  listened to at any time. They are located on the District website, as is our Fall Learning Plan Handbook:

Material pick-up took place this week and will continue into next to ensure all of our students have what they need to be successful. We will hold material pick-up each month as we know students may need additional items to be successful in their remote learning classes. If you were unable to pick up the materials, please reach out to your child's building principal.

Today we started our Parent University sessions. This is a training for any parent who would like to learn more about the technology that their child will be using during Remote Learning 2.0. All training sessions will be recorded and posted on our District website so they can be viewed at any time. Training will happen weekly and it will be based on what our families need to support their child:

Starting on Monday, Aug. 31, we will have daily walk-up technology support. All technology support information can be found on our District website including troubleshooting tips:

Food services will take place every Wednesday at EPHS for weekly pick-up. Students will  receive a five-day meal pack containing breakfast and lunch for each day. More information about how to order your food can be found on our District website:

I know that the best thought-out plan will have bumps along the way and that this will seem difficult at times. I ask for your patience, kindness, understanding and flexibility as this is new learning for all of us. When we work together we can create the best learning environment for students this fall. We will continue to share information on a weekly basis as well as have everything posted on our Fall Learning Plan page on our website:
