Vaccine Clinics for Ages 5-11 to Be Held at Elmwood and John Mills

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have insurance when you register for an appointment, you can click "insurance," and under the type of insurance type in "COVID HRSA Uninsured Testing and Treatment Fund."

Free COVID-19 vaccination events will be held in November and December for District 401 students ages 5 to 11 years.

The first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be given to those who sign up, with the first dose administered in November and the second in December.

Previously, the Pfizer vaccine was authorized for use in individuals ages 12 years and older.

Use of the vaccine for children ages 5 through 11 years was authorized Oct. 29 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The Illinois Department of Public Health announced this morning that it has adopted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recommendation for immediate administration of the Pfizer vaccine for children 5 to 11 years old.

District 401's vaccination events will be held at Elmwood and John Mills elementary schools on the following dates:

Please note that a parent MUST be present for their student to receive a vaccination.

As with District 401's previous vaccine clinics, Positive Health Services will conduct the events in partnership with the Cook County Department of Public Health.
