With the 2024-25 school year quickly approaching, District 401 held a three-day orientation program for its newest staff members to acquaint them with the district and Elmwood Park. Some of the presentations were given by district staff including administrators, instructional coaches, the communications department and building principals.

“I am thrilled about the diverse experiences and knowledge our new staff members are bringing to our district,” said Executive Director for Curriculum & Instruction Darek Naglak. “Despite the long days, their enthusiasm and passion for teaching and learning remain strong.”

The new staff members toured their respective buildings as the district prepares to embark on a new school year.

“It’s been great to have access to the different buildings to see what’s here in the district,” said Business Education Teacher Chuck Boland.

One of the new employees, Elmwood Park High School Social Worker Ruby Garcia, is an Elm Middle School and EPHS alumnus and is happy to be back at home.

“Coming back as an alumna but also as a staff member is going to be really rewarding,” said Social Worker Ruby Garcia “So I’m really excited to not only be part of the community but also help students and families here in Elmwood Park.”

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 21. Click here to view the district calendar.
