Staff Members Gather for Institute Day Meeting on Aug. 18

The Elmwood Park High School auditorium was filled with excitement this week, as all staff members joined for the annual Institute Day meeting!

Hosted by leaders across the District, the meeting began by honoring staff members with service and attendance awards. Impressive milestones were celebrated, ranging from 10 to 35 years of service, as well as those who had perfect attendance last school year. This was followed by a presentation of safety protocols and updates, led by Julie Tsagalis, Director for Safety and Security, and School Resource Officer Victor Piermattei from Elmwood Park Police Department.

Another notable part of the meeting was a presentation by Darek Naglak, Executive Director for Curriculum & Instruction, who shared updates on student assessments, instructional strategies, and planning for the year ahead. The day provided a great way for staff to ease back into the school year. Staff showed their school spirit by wearing school t-shirts, adding a fun and lively touch to the gathering.
