NJHS event sends thoughtful handwritten letters to hospitals
National Junior Honors Society students at Elm Middle School recently sent out letters to go to patients at hospitals. This follows an event put on by NJHS earlier this month with the letters going to the nonprofit group “Letters of Love.”
The group says roughly 100 letters were written by participants, many of whom are not a part of NJHS.
“It was great because that means other people care about this,” said NJHS Communications Director Kylie Cardona, “It’s not just NJHS kids, it’s other people who feel like they want to help too.”
Some participants decided to write more than one letter.
“It’s nice to see that there’s still people out there who care about this,” said NJHS member Jaime Velasco.
Cardona and Velasco said this is the first time the group has put on an event like this and they’re open to participating and helping the cause again.
