Holiday gift shop a big hit at Elmwood as students pick out presents for family and friends
It was holiday shopping time at Elmwood Elementary School this week! Elmwood’s Holiday Treasures Gift Shop, run by volunteers from the school’s PATT, opened on Tuesday and continued through Thursday.
The gift shop operated in person at school, but students and parents could also shop online. At school, teachers brought their students to the gift shop, which was located on the stage in the Elmwood gym. (The photos that accompany this article show students from Noemi Ramos' 2nd-grade class making their selections.)
As students picked out holiday gifts for family members, friends and even pets, their teachers and PATT volunteers helped them figure out how much everything costs and how to stay within their budgets. Parents and students could also come to the gift shop after school.
Gift choices included jewelry, stuffed animals, coffee mugs, sports items and much more. The kid-friendly prices ranged from pocket change to $12, with most gifts under $5. Gift wrapping was available, too. If buying from home, kids and parents could view the complete Holiday Treasures selection of family gifts online and easily make a gift selection.
Thank you to Elmwood PATT for setting up and running the gift shop, a holiday tradition! And let’s not forget John Mills Elementary School, whose gift shop will be open next week Dec. 10-13! Happy holidays to all!
