The rain stopped and the sun came out just in time for the annual Elmwood Elementary School Walk-A-Thon on Friday, Oct. 4! Organized by Elmwood Parents and Teachers Together (PATT), the event raises money for student activities and PATT-sponsored events. Principal Matthew Lerner estimated this year’s event raised between $8,000 and $9,000.

Students raised the money through donations, earning rewards for each milestone they reached — $5 earned a hot dog lunch, $20 a T-shirt, $50 the chance for a pizza party with friends, and $100 the opportunity to be chosen as Principal for a Day!

This year’s event also featured fun themes on each corner of the neighborhood walk, including Bubbles on Belden, Harry Potter on Palmer, Dancing on Dickens, Silly String on Armitage, and Elm Cougars on Cortland!

Check out the video to see more of this year’s Walk-A-Thon! Thank you for planning such a great event, Elmwood PATT, and thank you for your generosity, Panther donors! Go Panthers! #EWPantherPride
