Introducing the new EPHS College & Career Center!
The Elmwood Park High School Student Services Office has a new position this year: college and career counseling specialist. Long-time EPHS counselor Paige Kozyra has moved into that job, where she can spend all of her time focusing on helping students prepare for life after high school.
This could mean helping seniors apply to colleges or trade schools and assisting them with financial aid applications, or providing younger students with a broader understanding of the many career options available in the workplace.
To better serve that role, Ms. Kozyra has set up the high school’s new College & Career Center in Room 219. The center has plenty of resources for students to explore and spaces where they can work on college applications and consult with Ms. Kozyra.
Perhaps most importantly, the center is also a place where student accomplishments are celebrated. For example, each student who applies to college fills out a sticker and their name is placed on the wall for everyone to see. Ms. Kozyra hopes to see 219’s walls covered with student names as the school year goes on!
